Head: 1060 High Carbon Tool Steel is heat treated to a 45-50 Hrc, delivering the kind of toughness you want in an ax. The head is forge finished on the side with a medium polish on the Sub-3" bit (edge) and pole. The 1.25 lbs. head delivers serious chopping power without adding too much to your pack weight. Handle: The handle is made from a solid piece of American Hickory 14.25" in length with a subtly curved profile which offers a secure, ergonomic grip for all day comfort.
