Like all Artisan models, the rotation of the blade is through ceramic ball bearings.
The blade shape is a Cleaver and made from D2 Gereedschapstaal. A good, hard carbon steel quality; but certainly rust resistant, by addition, with a high percentage (12%), Chrome.
